Social work requires a practicum or internship as part of the learning experience. Like all other majors in the College of Health Sciences, social work students spend a considerable amount of time in agencies in the Greater El Paso community serving people in need putting classroom theory and practice techniques into action with regular clients with guidance from a social work supervisor.
